How koyaanisqatsi would inspire my own work
The exclusion of dialogue and characters is very unusual yet insightful. I'm inspired by the way the director has captured the processes of everyday life and used them to tell a story. Such as filming the hustle and bustle of a fast food restaurant over a long period of time and fast forwarding to actually show how fast paced and intensely hectic our lifestyles our. Yet because there is no dialogue and no characters the scenes aren't as manipulated to mean something, its whatever the viewer interprets is what it means.
